"5G" and "Wi-Fi 6" both get marketed as the next big leap in connectivity, and it's easy to assume they're competing for the same job. They're not — they solve different problems, and understanding the difference actually helps you make better decisions about your own setup.
5G is a cellular network standard — it's what your phone uses when you're out and about, provided by a carrier through towers spread across a city or region.
